Ji Xianlin's son, Ji Cheng, takes his father's ashes back to his hometown Linqing city, Shandong Province on April 5th, 2010.

The son of the honored Chinese scholar, Ji Xianlin, is accusing Peking University, China's top institute, of embezzling his father's legacy, which is estimated at over hundreds of millions of yuan and urged the university to immediately return the inheritance or face a court appeal, information posted on his blog August 16 showed.

Ji Cheng, the scholar's first-born, claimed to set up a Ji Xianlin Fund with the money from the auction of the over 100 calligraphies and paintings of Ming and Qing dynasties, which are currently reserved in the library of Peking University.

Ji Cheng said he has negotiated several times with the university, which procrastinates in delivering his father's owning back.

"I hope the matter could be resolved within this year. Next year is my father's centennial birthday and I need the legacy to run the fund," he said.

If his request is not responded, he would file a suit against the university, he added.
