Another employee of Foxconn Technology Group, a unit of Taiwan electronics giant Hon Hai, has committed suicide in Shenzhen, south China’s Guangdong Province. This is the 6 th death of a Foxconn employee this year.

Terry Cheng, vice president of Foxconn, expressed sadness over the death of Lu Xin, who killed himself by jumping out of his 6th floor apartment Thursday. Cheng also said, “We have really tried our best this time.”

Lu Xin, 24 years old, was originally from Hunan Province. He joined Foxconn in 2008, and was a member of the 2009 New Backbone Class.  This is an organization founded by Foxcann chairman Terry Gou, which trains graduates to become Foxconn supervisors. Members enjoy perks such as a Shenzhen Hukou.

Zeng Hongling, a colleague of Lu Xin, said Lu was an open-minded person who enjoyed singing, dancing and travelling, and also had good relations with his co-workers.

Zeng added that on April 30 Lu Xin appeared delirious, and told him somebody was chasing him and wanted to kill him. Zeng reported the situation to the general manager, and he and a colleague were told to look after Lu.

Shenzhen police confirmed the death and have launched an investigation.
