Show illegally broadcast online

Heyi Information Systems, manager of the video-sharing website youku.com, was fined 25,000 yuan ($3660) for broadcasting the TV drama Chu Liuxiang online without permission.

It is reported that exclusive distribution rights to the show were granted to Zhejiang Huaying Media Company.

The website did not screen the videos uploaded by users carefully enough and in turn illegally profited from the series, according to a Haidian Court in Beijing.
