Tibet welcomes foreigners
A leading official with the Tibet Autonomous Regional Tourism Administration said on Thursday there were no restrictions on foreigners traveling to Tibet during the National Day holidays.
Wang Songping, deputy chief of the administration, said rumors of the restrictions on foreigners' travel to Tibet were "untrue."
Because of factors such as the growing number of travel groups to Tibet and a limited reception capacity, some Tibetan travel agencies might have made adjustments to travel schedules of certain tourist groups in order to guarantee the best service for tourists during their stay in the plateau region, Wang said.
Food additives rule
China has launched a campaign to crack down on making, selling and using illegal food additives, and vowed to name violators.
The campaign will start this month and last until the end of 2010, according to the Ministry of Health.
During the first campaign phase that ran from the end of 2008 to early 2009, 7,626 illegal cases were uncovered, involving 67.08 million yuan ($9.8 million), according to the ministry.
Crackdown on Agro machines
Producers of agriculture machines must recall defective products to ensure operators' safety, a regulation issued by the State Council said on Thursday.
China reported 58,000 accidents related to defective products in the agriculture sector from 2004 to 2008, which killed 16,700 people, injured a further 51,500.
