Graduates line up jobs
Some 2.75 million university students, who are expecting to graduate late this month, have signed work contracts, an official from the Ministry of Human Recourses and Social Security said yesterday.
The figure, which is about 45 percent of the total number of likely graduates, is about the same as at this time last year, Yu Faming, told China National Radio.
It has not been easy for them to find work in the current gloomy job market, he said.
The ministry will continue to urge employers in all industries to help solve the employment crisis facing graduates and strive to ensure at least 70 percent of the students sign contracts before they graduate, he said.
