Beijing police begin trial run of official microblog

The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Public Security is starting the trial run of its first official microblog on Thursday, as it aims to improve communication with the general public.

The microblog at sina.com.cn is called 'Pingan Bejing', and it already has over 1060 followers.

Following the trial run, it will be officially launched on Sunday.

The Beijing police already have official blogs at sina.com.cn, sohu.com and 163.com.
