A reception was held Monday in Beijing to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Hungary.

Addressing the reception, Chen Haosu, president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), said China valued the friendly relations between the two countries forged 60 years ago and would push forward the friendship to a new height.

China appreciated Hungary's adherence to the one-china policy, Chen said.

Hungary's ambassador to China Kusai Sandor delivered a speech in fluent Chinese, saying bilateral cooperation in politics, economy, culture and tourism has achieved sound and rapid development, especially in the last 30 years since China conducted reforms and an opening-up policy.

Hungary-China trade value jumped from less than 1 billion dollars in 2000 to 7.2 billion dollars last year, he said.
