Sudanese president meets CPC delegation

Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir met with a representative of the Communist Party of China (CPC) who is invited to Khartoum to attend the general conference of the ruling National Congress Party (NCP), a press release obtained on Friday.
On Thursday, al-Bashir, also president of NCP, told Zhu Mingguo,a member of the Standing Committee of CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, that Sudan is ready to further promote the development of Sudan-China traditional and friendly relationship and to enhance the cooperation between the NCP and the CPC, according to the press release provided by the Chinese Embassy in Khartoum.
Zhu conveyed the greetings of Chinese President Hu Jintao, who is also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, to al-Bashir, and said that China appreciates Sudan's support on the issues of Taiwan and Tibet, and is ready to promote the comprehensive development of bilateral ties through inter-party relations.
Zhu also read out a congratulatory letter by the CPC Central Committee to the NCP's third general conference when he was present at the conference's opening session on Thursday morning.
"In the past 50 years, China-Sudan relations have gained rapid development in various fields. The CPC is ready to further develop the friendly ties between the two countries featuring broad fields and diversified forms, to make greater contribution to bilateral relations' development," the letter was quoted as saying.
Sudanese Speaker and NCP Vice President Ahmed Ibrahim al-Tahiralso met with Zhu and his delegation members on Thursday afternoon, the press release said.
Zhu arrived here Wednesday to attend the three-day NCP general conference.
