Taiwan authority rejects Rebiya Kadeer's visit

The Taiwan authority have rejected giving a visa to Rebiya Kadeer, the exiled separatist leader from China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to visit the island, citing security concerns.

A rock musician who is a Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) supporter, had invited Kadeer to come in December to which she had accepted. 

But Taiwan "interior minister" Chiang Yih-hwa said the island's authority had confirmed it would not allow the visit.
